dated for 1868, with 21in. English proved iron barrel, block and blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, ordnance and sold out of service marks at breech, the top of barrel erroneously marked '613', plain bar-action lock signed and dated together with an 'I' over broad arrow mark and a 'V.R.' crown device at tail, walnut butt-stock, the right side stamped '163', an Enfield roundel stamp and inlet with a brass identity disk marked 'J. FORT' and '163', brass furniture including toe and heel-plates with the exposed wood chequered, iron saddle-bar and ring, two iron barrel-bands and captive iron stirrup ramrod
